Seven buttons, a full hood and a straight cut to just above the knee. Room for a jumper underneath, and nothing else to think about.
Rain at nine, sun at lunch, cold by the bus home. The shoulders are dropped and the cut is loose, so it goes over a knit and trousers or a sweatshirt and jeans.
When the day turns, button it to the top and put the hood up. When it doesn't, leave it open.
